I've only just read this, and it made me weep.

Weep with the joy of someone having the balls to stand up and be counted.

I cannot and will not applaud you for being here today, where, I believe, you should have been all along, where it was your God-given duty to be, comforting, healing and loving the victims of this Church, your Church. Even today, far too many of you are here because of your own sense of offended dignity and privilege-----"How DARED the church lie to US!"----and not out of any sense of identification with or empathy for victims.
Like so many communities and organizations the RC Church has developed a structure - the greasy pole - that must be climbed and protected at all costs.
The reason, and support, for the pole no longer matters.

and say "I am sorry. I am sorry. I am so sorry." And weep when you speak.
And never - ever forget what went on.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.
