There was one documented case of abuse in Jersey with the perp getting 30 years (Edward Paisnel) but that's a decent 40 years ago now, I ended up reading a book about him two years after my own abuse happened. Very strange considering I was still successfully repressed/disassociated that I could read a book like that aged 11.

Grownup victims/survivors have gone on record on camera and in print about what happened at Haut De La Garenne, but I was concerned about press and TV basically helping screw up any proper investigation when the story first broke because of their reporting style. We'll see what happens with any new investigation.

Meantime I've borrowed the book Nobody Came by Toni Maguire from the library so I can get a proper personal viewpoint and make up my own mind - that's about three brothers sent to the home in question.
