A few days back there was a near-total eclipse on the other side of our world somewhere. I saw it on CNN instead. If you want to see the Milky Way just go up into the mountains well away from city lights or pollution and see how many constellations that you can identify. The top of 8 Mile Hill on I-70 in Utah is a particularly isolated place free from much residual light. You go stargazing there and you can probably see 10,000 or more stars with the naked eye.

And I hear ya' about the Milky Way and the vending machine. I have lost 35 lbs. since I have changed my diet.
