Careful with this movie, was massive trigger for me particularly towards the end. Lovely story though and the main character gives an inspiring monologue in the end.
Quiet the noises
And leave your ears free to hear
What is going on,
Right Here.

Do not cower in fear
For when the morning rays mate with the leaves
Through your eyes it will be clear,
That there was actually nothing to fear.

This movie gave me the trigger. Been on a spiral after watching this. frown
I guess it's only a matter of time until you have to face again your inner demons.
Trying to cope ever since. I just hope that after years of neglect.. I'll overcome the things that I am going through right now..

So for those who haven't seen the movie. Be careful guys.

I read this book when it first came out in the 90s sometime. Can't remember when. I know I absolutely adored it. I know I started to feel uncomfortable as I saw certain things occur and wondered where the storyline was going. I was living in denial of the abuse at the time, so when the inevitable trigger kind of derailed me. I saw the movie when it was theatrically released. Even though the book was a major trigger at a time when I was hiding my abuse...I still loved it. But seriously, guys...listen to Mike and the others: Be careful. I honestly think the trigger in this movie was one of the most difficult triggers in movies I've ever had to deal with. Please be careful.

Hope you find your strength, Mike. Be fearless!
