Amid sex scandal, bishop is urged to quit

VIENNA Austrians demanded a criminal inquiry and a bishop's resignation after officials found a huge cache of child pornography and photos of young priests having sex at a Roman Catholic seminary.
Leaders of the Catholic diocese of St. Pölten, about 80 kilometers, or 50 miles, west of Vienna, spent much of Monday in an emergency meeting.
Politicians and church leaders called for the removal of Bishop Kurt Krenn, who oversees the diocese.
Krenn, a conservative churchman, has angered many in overwhelmingly Catholic Austria by dismissing the images as a "childish prank" and refusing to resign.
