here are two poems in that vein.

Eternity in an Instant

I should have ran on home, Old Man.
Who knew that this day would come?
Who knew that I would stand here before you?
Once strong, once mighty
Now weakened as I look into the face
Of a thief

Not any face, your face
The face
Half man; half beast.

If I had known then the knowledge I now own
If I had realised the lies
I was told by you.
If I had realised the mistake
You would cause.

You caused my life to end
To crumble around my rotting life.
I had plans, I had dreams

No longer.

Gone is my window of options
My opportunities now are lost
Because of you.
Unable to salvage any Meaning of Life.

Eternity in an Instant

In her final, ephemeral moment
she had no wish for eternity;

but rather to be a child,
again amongst lilacs,
under the shade of maples,
with sunbeams singing
melodies of bladed grass
sweeping, in a breeze,
blowing maple leaves abroad.

If only for a moment
she could grasp
this last memory,

she would be happy again
with eternity in an instant.
