Traveling on a road to perdition, eternal damnation,
a light flickers through dim canopies with hopes of salvation.
The snake slips through vines of thorn, ensuing eluding stride.
Venom shrieks up shackled ankles filling a tainted heart with glycerine.
The bondage shatters and wings of firey gold emerge
painting dead bramble with flame.
Sweet solvent combusts leaving rebirth in a wake trail of residue.

Pacing on a wheel, another tick from the clock
beats heavy on my chest.
Running fast and free, limbs flailing at my sides,
the bars to my personal prison move inward day by day.
The spokes spin round and round in the glassy reflection of my eyes
transforming my sanity into a violently submissive alter-ego.
Perverted imagery flickers sadistically
on the crooked black and white television across the room.
Impressions of dismay melt down my face encasing my body in terror.
Claustrophobia whispers in my ear as the bars advance
inspiring the demon within to burst through angelic skin.
I close my eyes to witness survival dancing just outside my grasp.

I think you are getting closer to grasping survival. You are in a stage of discovery today. That is such a painful and terror-filled time. But, you are not staying there. You are working on your recovery and you had already survived.

I look forward to reading of your experiences and you move through all of this.
