Beyond The Needs of Humanity

I surely wish I was where you are
Even though it's not my time to go.
Because what you have now, I crave
Like a coffee-fiend missing his first cup.
For you now are beyond my petty needs.
Free of want, desire, conflict, and pain.
You know now the things I question,
And you can see the whole of creation.
You can talk to the angels and converse with God,
While I can rely on the feeling of prayer.
You know what true peace and love is.
I'm stuck with imagining what it is.
Oh, not the love part, for you are love,
Knew love when you were here,
Gave love when I needed it.
Peace, though? Denied you early on.
But you went beyond the confines of hurt.
You grew, grew above these small concerns.
The peace you have, the journey you're taking,
Well earned, although that wasn't necessary.
When it comes for my transition from this world
To next, I only hope I can find you
On my road, dear friend.

I'm gonna miss you, little bro, until we catch up.

Peace and love, and rest from your challenges.

Scot, I know you cared so much about Jake, and it is so hard to feel he is no longer with us.
He will keep you strong though, and I would like to include your poem in the tribute I did for him.

If you give permission, I will post it, and give you the link to my journal,

It is hard to lose a brother like him,

Beautiful, Scot, Bobby

I'm healing now, and I wasn't sure I would.

That is such a beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing your feelings with us.

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
