Last night, I pulled an all nighter; Ranata worked a night shift and I wanted to be on her sleep schedule. So, I roamed around the site last night and it reminded me of pulling guard when I was in the Army…I liked watching over you.
Last night I watched over you.
I could hear you breathe,
It made me feel strong to know that I could do that,
Watching over you.
Last night as you slept, I made sure that no one came near,
I know how you can be so filled with fear.
Last night I was the consummate friend,
Someone you could trust.
Last night I watched all the night through,
It made me feel proud of the person, who
I had become, after all these years,
Of hating and crying through my tears.
Last night I became the man,
And showed myself that I can.
Peace to you, my brothers dear,
To look for courage instead of fear.
Last night it was my privilege,
To watch over you,
To make certain that nothing troubled you,
To give you peace of mind,
Until it’s peace you find,
For you and yours in kind.
Peace, courage and strength from your brother,
"No soul is desolate as long as there is a human being for whom it can feel trust and reverence."
