Hi all,

Has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, taking the drug Cialis?
My new urologist prescribed me some to see if it could help a particular condition (no, not E.D.). It is also known as Tadalafil,
which is the generic version / active ingredient version.

Thing is, not only is it expensive, but I just looked it up online and there are reports of a small number of men going blind, possibly (but not 100% proven) from taking it.

That freaked me out. I already have eye issues and so I wonder if I would be more susceptible to such a side effect.
Apparently the drug does inhibit blood flow to the optic nerve, that part has been proved.

So...anyone go blind? frown .........(Bad joke, I know...sorry, it's late, and I probably should be in bed).

Seriously though, would like to hear any experiences if you want to share.

I have never used Cialis or other similar drugs.
I am interested why your urologist would prescribe this to you?
Ask the experts...
I googled this ( sorry I know you are not asking for this
but maybe if you spoke to guys who are using or have used
online... I never had sex. so. I am not the right person
"then get the f%*k off my post"."

You da man Chris!
Hope Cialis helps you.

Hey James!

Thanks so much for replying to this post. I found your link interesting and will read the stories, thanks. No, I only welcome your contributions and am happy you chimed in.

So here's an update...saw my Primary Care doc the other day and I discussed the Cialis and my concerns with him. He thinks it is best to put the Cialis on hold for now and instead try a few less risky options, like pelvic floor therapy. I don't want to detail on a public board what the issue is, but let's just say it is related to two things and they both start with the letter "P." smile Anyway, the Cialis is on hold until we try the other methods to see if I get some relief. But if anyone see this and does have experience with Cialis, I am still interested in hearing any stories.

Thanks again,

Well, I finally tried Cialis. This time it IS for E.D. - I have that after recent surgery (it is supposed to be temporary, possibly up to 6 months).

My surgeon's office gave me some sample packs, which helped because I did not want to pay for it (insurance does NOT cover it).

Well, after a few days it gave me many bad side effects and did nothing for my E.D. Even after stopping it, some of the side effects have still not cleared up 100%. frown

I am sure Cialis works for many men, as it is a popular drug. However, it sadly did not seem to "get along" with my physiology.

They want me to try Levitra but that is also very expensive and I'm not sure I am willing to risk $75 in case it also doesn't work (and harms me in the process). They also want me to get a penis pump. I did order that. Never used one before....that will be interesting....:)

Yes Manipulated - I was so looking forward to using it! I really thought this would be a great opportunity, because it reportedly has other 'good' side effects (like lasting longer) that I could have really used. Well I just have to forge on and find another way....I am used to that. smile

So far the Wellbutrin I started taking is also giving me bad side effects....I lowered the dose and am going to give it some more time before I call the doctor to see what else we can do.

I take Cialis. I don't really like it. I don't have E.D. but I can't get an erection with women; ie: that doesn't work well in a marriage to a woman. It actually makes me tired.

Did he prescribe it as a daily med? Because a 100MG pill has lasting affects for a couple of days.

I think those issues about people going blind are an urban legend. The same thing was said about Viagra. (which I also have a prescription for)

There is a reputable online pharmacy that my biological father gave me the link to that you can get it really cheap, in bulk. My stepmother is a pharmacist. You do have to have a prescription to order though.

I started out on the daily 5mg tablet. By the next day, I noticed side effects that only got worse as I continued taking it.

I also have a sample box of 20mg tablets but did not use any of them.

I had an online pharmacy that contacted me to buy it cheap, but i am glad I waited. However if you know of a cheap way to get Levitra, I would be interested in that. CVS wants to charge me $75 for the first month's supply.

I don't know if people have actually gone blind. But it is medically known that some men (a small percentage, I believe) will experience an adverse impact on their vision. My surgeon, NP, Primary Care doc, and my ophthalmologist all confirmed this. One side effect can be the inability to see certain colors, like blue or green.

I have samples of the various drugs from a doctor appointment last October, but haven't tried them so I'm interested in this thread. My wife or I haven't felt well enough so nothing has gone on since last summer. I wait for her to express some interest. Frustratingly, it doesn't stay up long enough these days. When I've used Viagra to counteract a medication, it made my face uncomfortably flushed and my heart pound. One of these days I'll try the samples if we try something intimate.

SDD757, if you can't get an erection with women, isn't that E.D.? I'm a little confused by that.
