My best friend, who also happens to be a survivor, gave me the nickname Batman so I thought it would be appropriate to have that as my screen name.

I was sexually abused at 13 by a male neighbor, which was over 30 years ago now. He groomed me, and groomed me very well, making me believe that it was certainly something I wanted. I've been in and out of therapy since I was 16 and I been on and off anti-depressants since I was 21. I'm in a survivors group now and plan on leading discussions for the next few months.

I'm sure like many of you, I go through cycles of feeling good about life and feeling absolutely miserable. I feel pretty lonely most of the time, even though I'm married and have teenage children. The only time I don't feel lonely is when I'm with other survivors.

I hope that I can be of help and I hope that I can also get some help in return.

Thanks for sharing batman, I look forward to your posts.
Loneliness has left lesions.
I gently apply balm, soothe-
the pain, seeing each unique,
a collection of things,
a panoply not rare.

Welcome Batman. Is there a Bat signal we can light up the board with? Yes, the damn perps groomed and stole leaving loneliness, depression, flashbacks etc. etc. in our lives but we ARE survivors. WE are NOT alone. HERE we can be safe and understood.

Look forward to sharing and listening and learning from you and the others here. Welcome

I'm sorry you need to be here. Your words hit a chord with me. I feel the same, lonely even though I to am married with kids. Survivors get it. Nothing against anyone else but survivors validate what we feel. Heal well my brother.

hi Batman!
Life is pain, marked only at intervals in which the pain is less severe!

Welcome Batman. (Not sure I thought I would ever say that :{)> )

Your comments resonated with me as well. Alone in the midst of the crowd. You're fortunate to have a survivors group. Thanks for sharing.
