MaleSurvivor Weekends of Recovery are open to any man, 18 or older, who has been sexually victimized as a child and/or as an adult.

"For the first time in my life I didn't feel alone."

Those are words heard over and over again by people who attend a MaleSurvivor Weekend of Recovery. As survivors, many of us struggle with feelings of shame and stigma that keep us isolated from one another. By connecting here, on the website, you have taken the first steps to breaking through the isolation and through the pain to begin a journey of healing. For more than 10 years, at over 60 retreats, over 1000 men and women, survivors and therapists, husbands, wives, and partners have come together to help support one another as we embark on those healing journeys.

ALTA LODGE - Alta, UT 9/30 - 10/2

This will be our 18th visit to Alta Lodge, which tells you how much we love the facility, its extremely supportive and nurturing staff, and the gorgeous surroundings. Alta Lodge is located at 8,600 feet (2,700 meters) at the base of the Alta Ski Area in Utah's Wasatch Mountains. Alta Lodge, nestled in a quaint alpine setting at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, offers spectacular mountain views. During September, the cottonwood and aspen trees are usually in the prime of their fall yellow plumage, adding to the beauty of this setting. Alta Lodge is part of a rare tradition of country inns where the attentiveness and warmth of family hoteliers is combined with the pleasures of excellent dining and comfortable surroundings. The atmosphere of the Alta Lodge is relaxed, intimate and informal. There will be space for up to 28 men on this weekend.

If you have general questions about the Weekends program, please contact Co-Chair Jim Struve at jimstruve@mac.com. For registration questions please contact Community Outreach Director Trisha Massa at tmassa@malesurvivor.org

"The weekend gave me an opportunity to share my experience with others and break out of my isolation. It reminded me that being a victim is a choice and that I can choose to be a survivor instead."

"This weekend provided me with the tools I needed to begin my recovery journey while offering me a safe, comfortable, supportive environment to experience the wide array of emotions that hit me over the course of the weekend."

WOR NEW THIS YEAR
Starting this year, we are eliminating early registration discounts for the Weekends of Recovery.

Along with this change, registration for all weekends will open 4 months ahead, and will close 1 month before the weekend begins. In the past, we have accepted late registrations, however starting in 2016, we will no longer be able to accept such late registrations. We must give our staff adequate time to prepare to be at the weekend, and it is necessary for them to know one month ahead about their participation. Hopefully, this will also give each of you that full month to prepare emotionally as well.

We have reduced the number of Level One weekends to 3 this year instead of 4; so we encourage you to register early to save your space.
