Hi rich,

And welcome to MS. I'm fairly new too, but I hope you find, as I have, there are many resources here to help on the road to recovery. One thing for sure, you are not alone on this journey. Disclose as much or as little as you are comfortable with writing, no one here is interested in condemning or judging, and most of all, you are not alone.
I think you've made a great decision to forgive your abusers, and I hope in the forgiveness department you have also forgiven yourself. I'm considerably older than you, so I know 56 is not too late to begin the process. Another great decision is joining MS.
Take care- we can all use more peace, love and harmony.
I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:
“Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.”
And he replied:
“Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God.
That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.” - quoted by King George VI

Hey Rich welcome to Male survivor

It's good to hear you have some solid recovery history in a 12-step environment- The principles of group support and fellowship, trusting others who have recovery experience, honest self appraisal and guidance from spiritual angle are really powerful tools for living- and will serve you well as you navigate these waters.

Blessings on your journey.

I am honored to meet you, Rich. My name is Eirik. Until I came here, I thought I was in an incredibly shameful micro-minority. I used to whisper. But I found my voice from this brotherhood. I hope you do as well. I especially was struck by the fact you forgave your abusers. That alone takes enormous strength of character.

Hi Rich,

Welcome aboard! It's great to get that out there. MS is a safe place where these things can be talked about. You now have close to 12,000 friends who all want the same thing-- healing, for themselves and one another.

Glad you posted and take care.
