Castle, it is very acceptable to express your opinion. My favorite quote of late is that "our right to swing our fist stops at the tip of another's nose". This stands here in this healing environment as well. Express your distrust or your stronger emotion at faith based organizations that have specifically offended or abused you, that is acceptable. To claim that ALL faith based organizations are abusive or nurture abuse is something no one person can prove, so it must be left out of our communication.

Please understand that faith and religion are a large part of recovery or minimally the bar that raises many survivors from the terrible training they have received. A faith based teaching of "love your neighbor" is the same as "be excellent to each other" from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Those who choose to follow a faith based recovery are going to be defensive about their path, so be it. You can continue to recover without persuading these to believe that recovery or life in general without faith is the best for them.

Speak your peace about specific events in your experience. Let the moderators handle those who may speak against your opinions, personal and public attacks are not tolerated on this site. Please do not be the one who initiates nor the one who responds in kind.

PM me if you need, I sent you a PM Castle, let's work through this, okay?

sorry to hear you are not feeling well, castle.

i used to be angry a lot,
but i guess i am getting too old for that.
hardly anything is enough to upset me these past few years.

life is too short to waste on bad thoughts.

when i get stressed or depressed,
i just go take in some nature.

going for a walk by myself always helps.

wishing you peace and happiness.
