welcome, Dowen!

yes - we often find it seems to feel worse before it gets better - but don't give up - press on and you will get relief. there is plenty of support here - many generous and compassionate fellow-survivors who will give you a hand - and offer understanding, the insights of their experience, and encouragement. just speak up and let us know how we can help.

looking forward to getting to know you,
lee

Hey Dowen,

I hope you find MS as helpful, validating, affirming and motivating as I have.

Take your time or dive right in whatever works for you.
There is no pressure here, just many ears to listen, many voices to share.

30 years is about how long ago my attack occurred, so we share that at least.
We understand your fear, because we too live with it.

We get it, we truly do.

Welcome.

Dowen,

It took many of us until middle age hit to start to deal with all the fallout from our childhood sexual abuse. In my case it was 43 years. So you are quite typical in that sense. Be good to yourself.

33 years here, and I won't lie. The recovery process can be brutal. But the liberation is beautiful. I have a long way to go in figuring things out. But I am encouraged that I will.

"I am a spectacularly complex person, with a brutally painful past, and a brilliantly optimistic future." - that is my mantra, and I think it describes a lot of us! Hang in there!

Welcome man!

Know you are not alone - and there is a lot of sharing and useful information on the site that will help you to move forward and claim a better life for yourself.

Admitting honestly the truth about ourselves and our lives can be painful but it is the path towards freedom and joy.
