I am new to the forums and am formally introducing myself. I am 43 and living on the East Coast. I was molested between the ages of 10 and 14. Life has been bumpy; I am still learning all the ways in which my abuse has affected me. I will post my story separately. I am glad to have found this community. Thanks.

hey slacks
welcome to MS you will find a lot of resources here to aid in your journey. take your time look around and avail yourself of them and maybe find some time to spend in the chat room. we were wounded in secrecy but we heal in community. I hope you will find that community here. in the mean time remember to breathe and be kind to yourself remember it was not your fault
Either I will find a way, or I will make one.

Hi Slacks,

I'm sorry your past brings you here, but glad you found us.

You are not alone. Our stories are all different but the outcome is all the same. This is a safe place full of compassionate people who are willing to help others. I am constantly amazed by the strength and wisdom of this community.

I hope it will be a source of strength in your healing. Welcome!

And you'll breathe easier just knowing
that the worst is all behind you
And the waves that tossed the raft all night
have set you on dry land

Sorry you have to be here--but it is a good place to help you share and heal. CSA effects us all and those around us. Our stories may differ but the outcomes run a spectrum and impacts our lives--sadly most times in a negative way. I am glad you are here and seeking help. We all deserve the life we were meant to have. Good luck

Everything that Mattheal said. Also, as you find safety, you may find anger and resentment at your loss. Being safe is so basic to human life and, at least for me so rare.
