I have been reading the posts for about a month now and have finally found the courage to post and say hello to everyone. I do not know if this is the right forum to tell my story, but I want to share some details. From approx. age 10 until approx. age 14 I was sexually tortured in the basement of what I think of as a monster. I was tied, beaten, forced to hurt other children, forced to perform unthinkable acts, had unthinkable acts forced upon me, saw animals killed as a threat to keep silent and my family was threatened too as a tool to keep me silent. I hurt in ways that I cannot explain. Anyway, I did want to take the first step today and introduce myself.

Welcome rc,

Your post was a good start to begining the healing process. Its a long, painful road to follow, but there's no turning back, and the destination will be worth the trip. Keep up the good work man.

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. They mean so much to me as I am sure you all know. Finding someone to relate to is so hard...almost impossible. I mentioned that I hurt in ways that I cannot explain....but here I don't have to explain. There is unfortunately, a common thread that got us all to this site. Thank you all so much.

Hey RC,
Welcome to an amazing place for healing. I can totally identify with what you are saying, as I was also the victim of some pretty sadistic monsters from the age of 8-10. Kudos for taking the first step and coming out of the shadows. There are so many helpful guys on this site. While we don't all share the same story, our abuse has affected us in many of the same ways, so there is always someone who can relate and understand. Just reaching out that first time is the hard part. Just take it at your own pace, with no pressure to do anything. You'll find what you need and what you are ready for.

I am glad you decided to share. But share what you are comfortable sharing, take your time. Support and feeling safe is important to healing.

Keep well
