Holy cow!

I'd always thought about it, but today I finally DID IT!

Before, I'd catastrophize:
1. Too scary, afraid
2. Buckled in front of another man
3. Too expensive
4. Military says I can't

Today, I wasn't even that anxious or nervous until I was at the door looking down, at the precipice of greatness, overcoming fear. HOLY COW!

I did it!

Screw fear! Danger is real, fear isn't real. I overcame so much today.

And I safely landed back on earth. The man to whom I was strapped like a baby bjorn saved me, protected me, guided me. I trusted him, and I had the experience of a lifetime.

I've already signed up to do it again smile

Hell yeah!
May your past be the sound of your feet upon the ground, carry on. ~Fun.

This is very awesome! You are very awesome!!! Congrats for being able to let go of your fears and not letting them hold you back from doing something you've always wanted to do.

You have done an amazing thing, CSASurvivor. Few people dare scale the mountains of fear within their own minds. You own this one...

glad you faced your fear and took the plunge.

so you plan on jumping more in the future?

my wife bought me a skydive for my 40th birthday.

it was all too quick, and i can barely remember it now over ten years later. i thought i would like it, but ultimately i never did it again. almost didn't jump the first time. if not for the training beforehand i probably would not have pulled it off.
two buddies jumped with me (their first time too), so i was also peer pressured into completing the jump. it was a fun day though, and a good memory (what little i remember).

i also did not like the guy stuck to my back. could not forget he was there, and it really bothered me.
