I don`t actualy know what this means...but it is some kind of "definition".

Anyone here struggled with that definition?
Bisexuality seems to be such a weird term...

The key to sexuality with regards to being a Survivor is acceptance and non judgment.

You'll see that there is a lot of confusion about sexuality here. Some people wonder if the CSA made them attracted to guys (or girls), and what their authentic self is. Many people struggle with shame and judgment over their sexuality, and the shame and judgment locks them there.

I've found that sexuality is fluid - it is capable of changing in surprising ways. My attraction to people is dependent not on just the physical, but also emotional and psychological. Sometimes I find myself attracted to women, because they're funny (they always turn out to be lesbian).

Acceptance and non judgment are key, I think, in claiming our birthright as sexual beings.

Since i started this thread i read some of the discussions in the forum, the whole Bi vs. SSA controversy is so much deeper than i thought, well, i guess its not so simple as choosing a label for yourself right...
Thanks for the replies guys, this means a lot

I am one a guy who has known that there was attraction to both males and females for a long time and have accepted this in myself much more over the past several years. I had to address internalized homophobia to do this. There is a lot of misunderstanding out there when people are saying things like you are either gay or straight or not wanting to accept that you are one or the other. There are way too many people out there who are attracted sexually and romantically to both males and females for bisexuality to not be considered a genuine option in terms of defined sexual orientation. Fritz Klein has done some excellent work in this area...e,g, his book "The Bisexual Option" and he developed the Klein Sexual Orientation Grid (KSOG) which goes far beyond the Kinsey Scale in this area.

You sound just like me, I finaly accepted the fact that I was BI and then continued reading posts regarding SSA. I then became very confused.. I feel now the lable I gave myself "BI" is a healthy way to look at it. It hasnt put me into a box and has relieved me of dismissing a part of me that is everpresent. I am not straight nor am I totally gay, I dont have to choose a side, I am who I am!!! I hope you find peace in your identity and find release in who you have come to know yourself to be.

Luftraum ..

After many years, I too am struggling with this issue and do not like labels (frankly certain "labels" trigger me).

I have just recently started my journey of healing and have been very confused with my SSA, however day by day I am being to accept it. Sometimes my feelings towards men are very strong and become overwhelming in my mind.

If other people ask .. yes, I am bi .. that's the way other people understand i .. but I'm not a predator I don't go out lookin for it .. if it's offered and mutual .. kewl.

Hope this helps

They said

Come home

I said

I'm confused and alone

They said

We understand

I found out they don't

I'll walk the path exactly how I've always done it
