Not very many people in my life know I'm a survivor, so I can't exactly say I wear it like a "badge of honor". In my mind I almost kind of think of it that way sometimes though, having survived so much for so long. How am I still even fucking here? How am I a functioning adult? I am though, through it all.

On a side note, I once heard Dr. Laura Schlesinger say that she had a real problem with abuse survivors wearing their past like "a badge of honor". Yeah, she actually used those exact words. "Badge of honor". Just like you did in the title of this thread. That was just one of the many things I've heard Dr. Laura say that made me think she's a real beeotch. LOL! Peace.
