Good article- thank you for posting. Teaching kids to trust their gut is important- especially since abusers could be someone they already know.

That article focuses very much on strangers, while the vast majority of abuse is perpetrated by people close to the child. I find that slightly worrying...

the article got it partly right - but - gecko is right too.
3 out of 4 of my abuse situations - ALL of which were ongoing, repeated events - were at the hands of people i knew and who were assumed to be safe (home, school, scouts.) only once was it a stranger (fitting room of a clothing store) - and then "only" one-off.
