This may be the best birthday present ever!

I wrote a letter to a youth advice columnist in the Boston area, Ask Beth, which is published in the Boston Globe (they say it's also syndicated, but I really don't know about that). I told my story in abbreviated form, and mentioned to get the word out. Imagine my surprise and shock to see my letter in the column today!

Anyone interested in reading it can go to (whew! That was a keyboardful!).

I hope it helps others. I know it helped me. I'm not hiding anymore. I have nothing to be ashamed about. I am LIVING with the abuse and I have NOTHING to be ashamed about. None of us do!

Be proud of yourselves, brothers and sisters. We are not being beaten by the abusers. WE are beating THEM! WE are healing the damage done to us. HEALING!

Peace and love, my brothers!

Way to go, Scot!

What a great letter you have written. I am sure that it will help a lot in expanding the public conciousness of the dilemna of the abused men in the US.

You have shown a great deal of courage in dealing with the effects of the sexual abuse in your own life. Now you are demonstrating a beautiful degree of compassion by publicly sharing your experience and hope with others.

What a wonderful thing to have done. You are right. When we are able like you to take the shameful abuse in our lives, share. it in the hope of helping others, we turn what happened to us into a valuable resource in the fight against male sexual abuse. Then we truly are the victors.

Thanks for posting this.

Thank you for your letter. I'm glad to see the issue, and this site, getting some coverage. WTG!
