It is a good film, not because it's entertaining (obviously), but because it demonstrates how the trauma of childhood sexual abuse can manifest itself in totally different ways in different victim's lives. The storyline was focused on two different boys, both of whom were perped by the same man. One became a prostituting\gigilo as her grew into adulthood, enough said on him. The other became totally withdrawn from normal social development and hardly talked to anyone and was convinced that his circumstances were caused by something that he couldn't even remember. Trauma works in such ways. The fact that it was caused by someone's selfish acts was almost incidental in the film, but not at all forgotten. The only failure of the film (to me) was that it failed to convey a well-known fact, which is that not every child, even boys, survive sexual abuse. Many die of drug overdoses, suicides, risky lifestyles, risky careers, etc. Not everyone simply grows old with the wounds of sexual abuse, some simply don't make it. Oliver (username Liri) was one of them. What is most disheartening to me is that most cases of childhood sexual abuse are easily prevented, if only the parents weren't to "busy" or just plain ignorant of the dangers faced by every child that comes into this world.
