I am new to this site, and I am glad I found it. I was brought up in a family of six, the two youngest, Peter and I are identical twins. My father raped us since we were toddlers and made us watch, this went on for years. Peter and I are very close today, we are 41 now and each see a psychiatrist, have our own families, and are recovering alcoholics. We have battled being happy in life. Something like this never leaves you. It doesn't for Peter and I. We now take it one day at a time and pray. I just wanted to introduce myself as an adult survivor of incest and rape. Thank you for taking the time to read my entry.

Welcome. It is great you were able to write your post above. It is a big step to do this. You are so right that "something like this never leaves you". I wish you all the best.

Welcome Michael to this great forum.
Ephesians 6:13

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Ephesians 5:25

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

Welcome to MS, Michael. So sorry you and your brother went through such a terrible childhood, but glad you've found this site. I hope you will find your time spent here to be helpful, and that you are able to enjoy the brotherhood, understanding and empathy from others here, as I have. Best of luck to you on your journey to recovery.

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home Iíll never see

It may sound absurd...but donít be naive
Even heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed...but wonít you concede
Even heroes have the right to dream
Itís not easy to be me

Welcome Michael,
Your story is difficult to read, but fulfilling in the knowledge that you and Peter are so close and comfort each other. I am sure that your individual recovery has been beneficial in the relationship towards securing the happy moments in life.

I look forward to your shares and supports in your upcoming posts, fellow survivor.

Michael, welcome to the CSA recovery unit. :-)

This is a place where I have felt nearly every emotion i am capable of and I am grateful for it's existence.

I hope your experience is what you need to continue with your growth out of the hell you were thrown into.
