What You Stole

The warmth of the bed brings no piece of mind, no memories of those cherished times.
The room is dark but for a crack of light, hoping the door holds fast tonight.

I close my eyes but not my ears, fighting back a world of fear.
Silently do the footsteps come. Whispers heard, now I'm numb.
Softly the hands are laid upon me, their voices whisper gently.
Close your eyes go back to sleep.

Mother what have you stole from me, what now will become of me.
I lay back and try to sleep, emotions rage inside of me
It feels so wrong but yet so right, I can only hope they'll be quick tonight

Mother what have you stole from me, my innocence my serenity.
I look to the heavens, no answer found.

Mother what have you stole from me, what now will become of me.
They're finished now, I'm left to be. Left alone in my humility.
To the heavens I look once more, pray to God to lock my door.

In her arms, in peace I rest. Softly her fingers stroke my head. Her angle voice now sings to me, a promise of the mother I long to see

I open my heart, the love flows in. Once again the confusion begins.
My trust in her I offer thee in hopes that she will honor me.

Mother what have you stole from me, what now will become of me.
Beneath the table I will sleep once more. Tonight there will be no opening door.
The warmth of the register until daylight. Lord if I am your son let me sleep tonight.

Mother what you stole from me was my innocence and dignity. You left me with my humility to anguish for eternity.

The time was now for words to be said. For the nights of terror upon my bed.
In spite of this I offer to you, God,s good grace and my gratitude.

For you have made me what I am, a love and caring, sensitive man.

I will hold no longer resentment in me. I offer God's hand to rest upon thee.
I wish once again I could gaze upon your eyes and offer my love still held deep inside.

Amazing poem one that touched me deeply. Thanks

Balanced (My goal)

There is symmetry
In self-reflection
Life exemplified
Grace personified
