Jackson's reworked face reminds me of Pogo the Clown - John Wayne Gacy's alter ego. He's the guy that tortured to death about 30 young men and buried them under his house.

Few comments:

I have personal issues with 'The Smoking Gun' site. But I do believe their legal 'artifacts' are legitimate.

Rick, I had a friend recently hospitalized with the flue and almost on a breathing machine. Something about the flue that is hitting people this year. He is not yet 30.

On Michael Jackson. The 'innocent until proven guilty'. I probably would never be on a jury, because in certain situations, I do not know that I could keep that in my mind.

I think his admitted behavior is questionable at best, disturbing as well. Maybe not criminal, but entering a scary 'gray area'. And that is his admitted behavior. Like Rick said, his behavior and affectation is not always congruent with one in physical pain (although I have competed sick or in pain and have not shown it, so I know it can be done), and he seems to be very much seeking even more attention. Regardless of if he is criminally wrong or not, he is a mentally warped person, and possibly unsafe just based on that.

I think Logan made a good point (if I read it right), in that people who sense a problem within themselves (i.e., feeling the possible 'urge' to be a pedophile) feel they cannot speak of it to get help prior to acting on their feelings. Perhaps also that is what Malidin means in his post, in how these people need to get treatment. The problem is, they need the treatment prior to their behavior. It is like a man-eating tiger. Perhaps the tiger would not attack man, man not being 'easy prey' in it's mind, on normal basis. But isn't it true, with tigers and lions and such, that once they get the taste of 'human', they become much more likely to attack more, even if other prey is available? Perhaps it is same of 'pedophiles' (I am using that term to define someone who is aware of their inclination, not someone who is obsessed with control and will act regardless). If they can be prevented from initially acting on the compulsion, perhaps there is hope for them. But I think once they have started engaging in such behavior, there is very little hope of 'rehabilitation'. What do they do with confirmed man-eating tigers or lions? Don't they kill them? Hmm.

Just to say that you're not alone. There have been many times where things in the news affect me deeply and I have to avoid conversations in the workplace and out in public. I tried one time to explain where I was coming from and was dismissed... talk about invalidation!
I also find it VERY hard to watch any movies that have abusive scenes and/or torture involved - I end up paralyzed for days.
Finally, I agree with those who are offended at the comedians who take their slant on these issues. It is in very poor taste and completely insensitive on their part.
