Actually, this is a misnomer.
The parents are not raising the child/ children without gender. They are not disclosing the sex of the child, at least for now.
Sex and gender are not synonymous.
Everyone has a sex. It's designated by anatomy.
What I think the parents are trying to do is to prevent/ minimize the narrow confines of gender role expectations the world inevitably places on people.
