Bravo for RecoveryReady1!
A few years ago, as I started to feel after decades of avoiding, escapism, and acting out, I got an image of my family I grew up in:
a decrepit concrete farm silo (tower) that needed me to keep it
propped up and prevent it from collapsing on its own.
I stopped propping it up and wasting my energy and life to make the family look good. I am discovering the family and friends I CHOOSE need me present and available.
We have to take responsibility for what we're not responsible for.

It matters where you go" Frank Turner
