There's a ton of stuff going through my head right now and just seeing how many people are on here pisses me off to where I want to log off. It's sickening this many people are on here for the same reasons many are dead because of it. Sorry, not trying to bum anyone out. Now my pessimistic side is coming out. I've been to therapists before for depression and eveything with it, but oddly enough, though I had mentioned I was sexually abused therapist never really talked about it really. I figured it didn't matter, which, sorry to anyone who might get mad at me for saying that. But, honestly, I've grown up thinking this, and trying to deal(cope in whatever way I could, never good ways),with it on my own.I told my mom what happened not too long after I was molested,but...nothing was done. He was a family member anyway,so I don't know if she didn't want to start trouble or something. She didn't talk to me or my brother about it either. Pretty much it was let go with no consequence. I know your not supposed to tell a story here,I'm not. Just trying to say that personally, I grew up thinking what happened didn't matter. Anger, depression, rage, fits, only come out when I hear about it happening to others, making it hard to be on here really.I don't know if ti's going to do much good being on here, but seeing other people working through it makes me a tad optimistic.

Welcome. Sorry about you having to be here as well.
DOn't worry about expressing yourself as long as you are not abusive it all helps.

As Mark Twain once quipped, history may not repeat itself, but it does rhyme.

Welcome to MS. Sorry it makes you mad to see so many people here but you did find a good place to start your recovery. Take a look around at your own pace. Do remember that your not alone and others here know how you feel. Hope to see you on the forums and in chat. Take care.

Welcome Gheist:

When the reality of what has happened to you, and others sets in, it does indeed make you angry. You have every reason to be angry. As do we all.

Nevertheless, we are glad that you have found us. You are not alone with how you feel.

Hey Gheist, I totally get where you are coming from with therapists not registering the most important thing to come up. Yawn, let's move on, they have practically said. Not now though, finally have a therapist who gets it. Anyway, there are plenty of people here who get it having experienced similar things.

I'm not a Therapst, I just play one on TV. But I suggest looking at your abuse in a structured way. The book "Victims No Longer" by Mike Lew touches on most of the major points for your consideration. The book is a true life-saver for some/many. Its here at our book store (go to home page) and you'll see Dr Singer's new book. He's here at MS a lot and a great live resource.

Welcome to MS, sorry you experienced the things you did.

We are a community of survivors.

Back in the early 90's, I too expressed my rape as a child to a "therapist" who completely ignored it.
