Ron posted a reply to a note placed by DJ the other day. In his reply Ron posted the following video. It has grabbed me ever since. I figured out why. Those brothers here who have attended a WoR may recognize this as well. To me, its the Shamebusting exercise Dale did with us. In the music, in the simplicity of it all, we learn a very important message.

Here is another rendition of it as well that I watched this morning. Like the men above, look at the faces of the people giving us this performance. They feel what they are singing and playing and dancing. You can see it. What pride they feel! It gives me goosebumps every time I watch this. It gives me goosebumps to think back to Dale's taking us through Shamebusting.

What more can I say, but thanks for this Simple Gift Dale!

Hi Jim,

I am deeply touched by your heartfelt message about Shame Busting at the Weekends of Recovery. It was my total joy to bring this gift to the weekends and to know that it continues even after my departure from the WOR team to pursue new goals within MS.

I was moved to tears by the beautiful piece that you found this morning to add to what Ron had posted. On the one hand I wish I could still be offering Shame Busting in the WOR and on the other I relish my PA support group and the tasks I'm involved in with the Board and the newsletter. Ah...choices!!!

My very best wishes to all those who attended the first 24 WORs who graced me with their wonderfully freeing movements.

I believe the song "Simple Gifts" was a Shaker hymn from the early 1800's.
Tis a gift to be simple
Tis a gift to be free
Tis a gift to come down where we ought to be
And when we all come down to the place just right
Twill be in the valley of love and delight
When true simplicity is gained
To bow and to bend
We will not be ashamed
Till by turning turning
We come round right
I think that's how it goes. We used to sing it in the Mennonite church when I lived in the Midwest years ago....
