I been thinking that getting a deeper nights sleep could help me with my daily activities and effects of the SA.

I've been thinking about getting one of those air mattresses, not the one you get for company the professional kind that comes in Twin and Queen Size and is like an actual bed.

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with a better bed or getting a more restful sleep and if it has helped you get thru the day

Two months ago I got a two inch thick piece of memory foam and put it on top of the densest four inch piece of upholstry foam and had it wrapped up like a mattress. It cost $200 but I've never slept as well as this before. Maybe it would help you too.

I'd been down so long
it looked like up to me.

I threw my old bed out, and got one of those inflatable beds, it really has made a difference to my sleep.

I think that they are so much more comfortable than any other bed, and they are not expensive,

The best nights sleep I have ever had, was when I made a statement of complaint against my abuser on 17th Oct last year. *About 13 hours.

I have previously slept for longer than that after returning home from a 3 day rock festival many years ago...that was just sheer exhaustion after about 3 hours sleep in 96 hours. *I woke up after making an extremely loud snoring noise (breath intake) to see my then 85+ Gran looking at me like I was some sort of alien. This was in the front room / family home (just in case anyones imagination was racing ahead of the scene).

*Rock Festivals / sleeping - the last one I went to, I bought a lilo from Asda/Walmart for 1.70/$3.. it was an excellent buffer between the cold damp ground and my tired bones (I was in a tent so it wasn't that bad).

The best thing about this festival was that I always say that I can never sleep properly in a tent (Leeds Carling Festival). ON the last night some idiots set fire to a toilet block near to where I was sleeping - I thought I heard a van go past the tent once during the night...reality was that there was a police helicopter constantly flying overhead all night & I had more sleep than anyone.

If I do something that makes me feel good, then I sleep well. The bed doesn't really matter.

*Then there's the time a Friend and I slept under a bed because our girlfriends would not let us sleep in it (that shows how old we are) - the next morning we crawled out from underneath to find that we were covered in fluff...we were like 2 newly hatched (large) chickens).

Oh well - hope that gives someone a smile.

Best wishes ..Rik

Hi Jason,

Finaly - something I know I can actually help someone with!

Do some searching around for a local Select Comfort outlet store in your area.

2 years ago I had a bad accident at work (and I had a bad back even before then!). I was seeing the Chiropracter 3 times a week for over a year. Sleep was a painful ordeal that was done only in short 2 hour or less increments... A friend just happened to get me into a Select Comfort showroom where they were able to find me a 'factory reconditioned' bed (aka - showroom model - w/ new coverings and the 20 year warranty) which saved me over 35% off the normal price (which honestly is'nt much more than the price of a decent innerspring mattress). It took me a couple of nights to find the perfect air pressure setting - but I have been sleeping MUCH better since getting this bed and would 'highly' recomend it to anyone!

Another good bed to look into would be the Tempurepedic bed - it is a memory foam type of bed - but I have heard that they are pretty expensive...

best of luck on finding a good nights sleep,

TJ jeff
