Ok. my alchol just walked thu the door (something I won't be able to do very soon), so here's my last song of the night. I'm dedicating this one for ME! Its a real cool & clever song. Basicaly its saying I wish I was NOT ok with just being me.

& that's true. Some times I wish was not the person I am.....that I did not have the uncanny insight I seem to have.....that I wasn't proven right so offten. So like the song says....

"What if I mess me up real BAAAAAAAAAD"!

I've been intermittently absent MS for a bit with our other various dramas but I just saw this thread and had throw some up here.

Mad World - kind of a dark mood song.

Apocalyptica has a song about being a childhood sexual abuse victim of a priest. I think the song title is "I'm not Jesus". Very powerful lyrics - could be quite triggering so careful if you're in a rough spot.

And for me, in this "stage" of recovery I have to go with "Shine" by Alexi Murdoch: "It's time to believe in what you know....and it doesn't take strength to be strong."

Stay strong Brothers.

I have to survive and I hope to thrive.

"Mad World" - Gary Jules - piano version - usually does me in. But I'm drawn to it when I need a good sob.

Yer Blues is another one that comes to mind. I love that song. I just listened to the White Album this morning. While it's not the Beatles best work it was my favorite Christmas gift the year I got it. Everything that's wrong with it is purely cosmetic, a tear and two previous owners names stamped on the label of both sides of both discs and some ringwear on the cover. What is utterly amazing is that at one point it belonged to a library, but it still plays flawlessly. Not only that, but it still has the poster and all 4 photos with it.

I may not be perfect, but at least I'm not fake.

Mine is not a pop song, but a classical symphony.

The 5th symphony of Shostakovich. It was written in the time he was suppressed by Stalin, he was arrested and fell in disgrace as composer of the USSR, he and his family threaten with death and imprisonment in Siberia . From then on he changed his way of writing. It became double layered. When you hear the symphony the outer layer is a "hymne" to Russia, to praise the leader, to praise the people, but the second layer is almost a requiem, for the people being murdered, suppressed and whom cannot express themselves. For millions of people in pain and despair. It is a symphony of "fake" emotions.

That is how I feel often. My outside is shiny for the outside world, looking good, doing good, being "happy" but the deeper layer is one of pain and being desperate.

Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.

I love The Wall by Kansas. Leftoverture as a total album is a great song.

Mad World by Gary Jules is a great song too.

This song by Gary Jules is very appropriate, but much more uplifting. smile
