Anyone have one? And if you do, have you ever used it outside of the USA? They are not for sale here in Canada, but I am wondering if I bought one in the USA, would it work in Canada? I understand that purchasing and downloading books is done via the cell phone network, but does not support it here as they say they don't have an agreement with a Canadian cell carrier. Issues of Canadian copyright also figure into the differences.

My wife has been dropping a lot of hints about getting a kindle. I just don't want to drop the money on a technology that won't work here.

I chose not to get one because they are expensive, become obsolete, and because I like to mark up books. I know that isn't the answer you are looking for.

I also don't like the idea of virtual books, i like books that i can hold and keep.

I am kind of an old-fashioned guy from a technological standpoint, and I will admit that I had not even heard of a Kindle before today. But this is the 2nd mention of a Kindle that I have heard today to this story on MSN:
