I remember my days although years and years ago, while in the pulpit, someone asking me "will I walk with him".

I understand the statement now. I was unknowingly terrified at the time so, I ask you my fellow brothers (and sisters),

Will you "walk with me?"

And if you will "take my hand".

It might be terrifying but, I promise you we will get through it together.

I will walk with you on this journey of recovery.
So that either of us shall ever have to be alone in our pain again.

I can walk. I can take a hand.

I want to walk.

I struggle so badly with trust. The tiny hint of fear and mistrust always seems to be there. Always wondering what they really want, what they really think.

Help me walk and maybe someday I can get rid of that mistrust.

I don't want to be alone anymore.

I am not alone. At times I want to be alone and I am ok with it.

We get to say what we want and dont want on our walk.

We get to stop holding hands and walk away for awhile.

But, trust me as I trust you. If you need me too I will wait.

We can,

Wow DJ!

That hit me hard.

I've been alone for a long time. Then not. Then alone again.

I don't want to be alone.

It causes me to go into despair.

I need my brothers to walk with me.

I will walk with you.

I can't do it alone.

Today I'm O.K.
One day at a time I make the journey.

i will walk with you, in fact it is or duty to walk with each other .
when one is down and has no one to help him or her up they will stay there longer and it requires more effort to get up . when some one is walking with you they and lend a hand to help you up, there for making the trip up a lot shorter than it had to be with less effort . so to answer your ? i will walk with you.

This really resonates with me right now. I'm trying hard to be more honest with people, but how can I do it, when all my trust has always been betrayed? It's easier to walk alone sometimes.

Some of our feelings of mistrust come from what was done to us, some from not allowing others into our pain, some of it is because those who were supposed to make our world safe, didn't. Some of it is guilt - which we tried to cover by something...denial,alcohol,drugs or some other behavior. We now know it does not work like that. We cannot walk this road alone. We're woefully inadequate to do so. If we don't allow anyone to walk alongside us, we walk in the fog of a broken heart. That's where trust comes in. Its been 2 months since my wife and I began therapy - we are not anywhere near where we need to be, but we are not where we were, and that's a good thing. Sure, I cry. A lot. I get edgy and weepy sometimes for no reason, then it passes. I deal with a lot of people during the day in my profession, and I have to "put away" what I am dealing with because it has no place in the workforce. Sometimes at the end of my workday, I'll allow it out to think on it and how I reacted to those around me that day. It's all connected to us getting better so we can be better for those in our lives who need us. Sorry to ramble.....I'll quit now. Hope this helps you....along with everyone else here who wants to help others who come for help!

Hi my fraternal brothers.

Little Pete & big Pete, would like to offer our brothers our hand.

It' old and worn, but it is warm and it has dried my tears.

But it will welcome someone's hand to steady this old boy, as we walk the road to survival.

When we stumble, another of our brothers will offer his, and we will continue our walk together, in compassion, understanding and love.

I will not let any of my fraternal brothers ever walk alone.

" I will take that lost boys hand, and i will lead him from the depths of darkness, into the sunshine, forever into eternity".

Heal well my brothers, heal well.
