Life is what you make of it-- well so I've heard some say,
That you have the power within your mind to make it happy along the way.

But to me life is a series of events, of that which you have no control,
To some it's great and to others it's fun, but to me it's a dismal, bottomless hole.

God has been gracious with others as well, but me He puts through a living hell,
While some can celebrate with ringing bells, my life's more like a dried-up well.

That many have little problems in their lives--for that I am well pleased,
But I think that God has been unkind to pile all their share upon me.

Life is like a bowl of cherries! Yes, it's true--and very well said,
That it has an exciting and very tart taste? NO! I say, but full of pits instead.

Everytime I seem to turn my hand there is trouble all about and around,
I pick myself up and clean myself off, then God kicks me back down.

Don't trust God, this is my advice; He is not even worth your spit,
"I will bless you and love you!" He says; yeah, right, you can kiss my grits!

Yes, life is very dreary for me; but hope still shines in my eyes,
For I know that yet I shall find peace and happiness, oh yes! On the day that I die!

Hi dusty42.

A very powerful poem.

Straight from the depths of your soul.

Thanks for sharing your feelings.

Heal well my brother.

I hope it has helped you to let these feelings out. You're clearly hurting and I hope you find a way forward. Life can beat us down, yes, but it can also lift us up, and at times when we would least expect it.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
(Woody Guthrie)
