Following on from Ineffables’ out of integrity post, the question of who I am is one that I have often pondered. For many years it was a question I did not want to answer because I felt it would make me acknowledge that I was indeed a person of lesser value as I had always been told.
I was taught from a young age that being gay was the worst possible thing that could ever befall me, whenever I was asked “who I am” I inevitably avoided the question because I always thought that question meant I had to answer “I am gay”.
Fortunately I have grown in the last few years and have realized I am many things, and my answer to “who I am” has no relation to my sexual orientation anymore and nor should it …
I am ----- Arron --------
I believe in self honesty and integrity,
I believe I am the best person I can be,
though I continue to work on being a better person every day.
I believe that life is ever changing and as such
nothing is ever set in concrete,
nothing is ever black or white,
and that I am allowed to change.
I am what I am,
and that is good enough for me.
It’s nice to meet you all
