He watches the windows
He watches the doors
He watches the people in the house

He watches not for a way in but for the unattainable way out
He watches through the window
The curtains sneaked apart
Watches the thing thats called dad
Stumbling drunkenly out of the car
Watches the thing thats called dad
Beckoning his friends into the house

He knows whats coming
Has gone before and will again.

He stops watching the windows
He stands watching the door

Waiting barefoot in his pyjamas
Waiting with child's smile painted on his young face
Waiting dead and cold inside

this poem gives me a tiny window of insight into what you have endured. it boggles my mind to think of what you have suffered in your life. and further, to think that others have been there too. it is disgusting what you have had to go through.

all i can do is offer this:

[my head went to the left]

i am glad you are sharing your feelings and thoughts with us, and i thank you for that. you'll never know how many people are benefiting from you telling your story in these poems.

have a day good man,

I have no words, just that I am so sorry. All my thoughts and prayers for you and Little Ben.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
