He looked at the wall
was all he could see
the shadows were always there
hounting, menacing, hurting...
he hide on himself
no one could see him now
no one was aware he was in pain
he used to look at the wall
that was all he could see
looking for a door
to escape, get out, to look beyond
He looked at the wall
wishing there was not a mirror
where he could look at himself
he did not want to see it
he did not want to look at it
he wanted it to disapear
the boy looked at the wall
and he imagined things
of a different life
of a different place
of a different time...
of a different boy...
a happy, beautiful, loving boy
that was loved, cared, hugged and kissed
as he he was ment to be...

I like your poem.

About dissociation and what should have been.

A boy that was beginning to find his way to freedom.

Have hope,

Very cool Sunwolf. \:\) So many of us will identify with that boy trying to imagine himself into a different place.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
(Woody Guthrie)

Peace and love,

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home Iíll never see

It may sound absurd...but donít be naive
Even heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed...but wonít you concede
Even heroes have the right to dream
Itís not easy to be me

Hi, Sunwolf,

A great poem, thanks for sharing it. It shows a lot about how things were, and also how things should have been for you - an innocent, precious child who deserved better.
