it is getting colder here in the mornings and i always hate that. when i was 14 my dad beat me one night when he got home from work. it was so bad, he broke bones on the left side of my pelvis. when he took me to the emergency room, he told the doctor i had an accident on my bike. i didnt' have to have surgery or anything. the doctor just said to stay off of it and it would heal on its own...i couldn't walk for six weeks. the only good thing about all that was when i was still recovering my dad couldn't get at me. he stoped hurting me for awhile.

anyway...even after all these years later (almost eight) it still bothers me when the weather changes. i can feel an ache where the bones were fractured. you know how people always say that if you've had a broken bone, you will know when it's about to rain \:D well, its true. it bothers me when it rains and when it gets cold. it was aching when i got up this morning. just another sick reminder of days long past. it makes me drag up all of those memories. i hate this
sorry for rambling....just been feeling alone lately.

Kip I too know the rememberance of physical pain from those I trusted as well as the same from clients when I hustled. Yeh when the weather changes I feel it.

Yes it does bring back memories but it also brings back to me that these are scars sort of about which I can do nothing except to work out a lot. The scars I continue to work on is the fracturing of my mind and soul. These, when healed, leave no lingering painful rememberances.

Treat yourself to a long hot bath with some nice smelling bath oils, a good CD, and relax.

I'm sorry of your history, and the fact it still causes you physical pain today. I know too how bones do not fully heal right, and will tell you with change in weather or such. Is there something that you can take that will help more with pain when it gets worse? I hope that something can keep you more comfortable. I will be wishing you well and thinking of you.

I am sorry for how you have suffered, and I know from experience the problems with formerly broken bones. I hope you soon feel better, and I wish you well.

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible in not a declaration, it's a dare.

I'm sorry that you have such painful reminders of such painful memories. A double whammy.

Take care, and that bath Dave mentioned sounds nice. Light some candles while your in there.

Leosha and All,

If you are not allergic to any of the following, they are worth trying. Do not take the aspirin and the ibuprofin at the same time. You can take one of them along with the other two items. I would try SAMe alone (except for calcium) first to see if it works without having to resort to aspirin or ibuprofin. If SAMe doesn't work, then try aspirin or ibuprofin (along with calcium).

1. aspirin, take as directed on the label

2. ibuprofin (Advil), take as directed on the label

3. SAMe, Nature Made brand or enteric-coated generic, take as directed on the label. You will find SAMe in the vitamin/mineral herbal remedies section of your drug store or grocery. It works for arthritic joints. Maybe it will work for bones. If you buy generic, make sure it's enteric-coated or you will get a terrible stomach ache. I speak from experience.

4. It wouldn't hurt to take a calcium supplement especially if you don't drink a lot of milk. If you're over 50, you positively should be taking calcium. Even men can get osteoporosis.
