The lullaby raises
Beautiful haunting
Crystalline night
I sigh
In ecstasy
Enchanting evening
Crying Soundless words.

The sound raises again.
I gasp
I hear my voice in its echoes
I hear the pain in its tenibre
I hear the joy in its meter
I hear the quiet stillness

I dance to the ancient sound in my head
I live its time and meter.
Im lost.
Im crying now.

My Sister hears.
She dances with me.
Howling at the heartless moon
Celebrating the honored moon
Singing laughing, cursing, drinking.
We toast To the Moon, To the Dog Moon
We howl together.

I hear the ancient song in my mind
Underlying my thoughts
Good night my baby
The moon will keep you well
It will guard you in your sleep
It comforts your dreams
When you wake it will be gone
But tonight the Dog watches you.

Im lost in a kind of lunacy
Were singing now
Me, my Sister, and I
Random songs from our childhoods
We dance and drink till the sun rises.
Then I tell her of the Dog and the Moon.

We howl, the moon fades.

Ok, this is no masterpeice or anything. The full moon of august, one of its names is the dog moon. Last night I kinda had a party, with my parents gone. It got a little crazy. near the end of it I found mysef and my best freind my 'sister' toasting the dog moon and howling. anyway I wrote this in response.

Your poem reminds me of how, about 5 years ago (you would remember), the guys on the site spoke of themselves as a pack of brother wolves. I have seen some posts reflecting that, and a few of the guys who are still here from back then still use that image from time to time.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
(Woody Guthrie)

ya, i remember. I miss that thread. I wasn't thinking about it when I wrote this but its interesting u said that. The friend that i mentioned is the only one offline who has really stood by me with this. We've discussed my past and her past. she mentioned once being invisible. We share some common threads. she's part of my pack, like a sister. And I'm eternally thankful for that. Thanks for the response.
