Sorry that this my first post, but I have found it difficult to post anything here... just my fear!!! I was sitting at home this afternoon and started to write... and I wrote this about me...

Sentenced to Life.

I have been sentenced to life,
but committed no crime,
Still with my empty soul,
I carry out my time.

Not knowing what I did,
To be sentenced to this,
My childhood memories,
I so much miss.

I made one mistake,
I listened to him,
He took away my innocence,
When he made me play with his thing.

It didn't stop there,
He was bored of my hand,
He made me turn around,
and took me from behind.

It went on for a while,
his fun and games,
but now that it has stopped,
I still suffer the mental pains.

I can't sleep at night,
the images are still fresh,
just those moments of time,
have made me a mess.

I wonder who I really am,
and where I should really be,
If only those answers,
Were in front of me.

Looking back at it now,
23 years have passed,
for him, he has forgotten?
for me, the pain will last.

I have been sentenced to life,
but I have not committed a crime,
Still with this in mind,
I'll carry on and continue with my time.

all the best,

Thanks for coming here SW and breaking the silence. By doing that you may find that your sentence my be starting to comute. Breaking the silence and talking about it frees up the pain and the shackles we feel on our lives. You may find that the key to your cage had been in your heart and hand all this time. Welcome to Welcome to healing and the rest of your life. Thanks for the beautiful expression above.

Welcome to the site, and thanks for this very powerful poem. Things can become so much better for us, and I hope that as you read and participate here you will begin to feel some of that healing.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
