Another week of no relief
The nights and days of terror

My life away from me
I now barely remember

No retreat not free
Question lack of my surrender

Not by choice they come to see
To take what's theirs forever

I don't know why I just can't die
To live has little worth

My cage designed for all their crimes
Control was lost at birth

Alone inside try not to hide
Full on in reverse

Resilience? Survival? life?
No. Existence in a curse

Semper Fi

The statistics? 1 in 4, 1 in 6?
...then me the imaginary number

Abuse Part I&II

I don't think any of us can ever totally understand what was done to another and how it has affected him, but I recall your story and I can appreciate how difficult this is. I hope it helps you to know you really are not alone here and that others are listening.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
(Woody Guthrie)

that feeling of being a prisoner.
under siege.
defeated before battle's end.
beyond fear of failure.
beyond duty, dishonor, or death.
even the edge of terror becomes blunted.
a feeling beyond my usual outrage at the injustice,
beyond submission to fate,
a feeling of not feeling.
it is a feeling i avoid as best i can,
yet i know it all to well.
a feeling i despise and desire.

you have captured it here.
thanks for inspiring some insight, usmc97.
