I remember the first time a therapist gave me the codependent news, I said "I'm not codependent," how wrong I was and really had no clue what was going on in my life at the time. The first meeting I refused to say, "Hello, my name is John and I am codependent." I thought saying it would affirm the diagnosis and that was the last meeting I attended. Now I would gladly go but I live in such a remote area the nearest meeting is three hours away. Can't go back in time and I am glad I am this far but my recommendations to everyone is to find a good therapist and trust them, do what they ask of you, let them help you.

Have a great day,

I'll just chime in here and second your comments on cooperating with the T. I was scared to death when it all began, but by the time therapy ended for me I was looking forward to my appointments as a kind of highlight of my week.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.

It's like that for me now Larry. now I go every two weeks and it won't be long before its once a month then none. I have learned a lot on this journey.
as far a codependent stuff, I found this site very helpful

I'm a normal person dealing with abnormal experiences.

CoDA is a great organization that deals with a lot of the issues we have as survivors: Self-Esteem, Boundaries, and relationships in general. If you can't find a group specifically for survivors, I think that CoDA is the next best thing.
