Yes, it's crappy.
Having to work for a living while trying to deal with this recovery crap.
It's hard to concentrate with your emotions all over the place.
And taking the pressure at work is not easy when you are feeling crappy.
It's crappy folks.
Sorry just venting here.
We will now return to our regular crappy crap.
Thank you.

I understand crappy. After Alta my emotions were all over the map, and in bits still are. Then this week I caught a cold. Makes for an interesting attempt to concentrate in class.

Geez and how long does this last. It's been I think like 4 weeks or so since my retreat and I am still a mess.

It may depend on what gets awakened. I opened up some pretty heavy stuff a couple weekends ago. I guess it would be unrealistic to think that 30+ years of hiding this will go away that fast.

rcm,

Andy has made a vital point I think:

Be gentle with yourself, accept and appreciate the progress you can make, and try to keep at it. Most of all, don't run yourself down or lose heart because things seem difficult: recovery from childhood sexual abuse is one of the most difficult and challenging things a guy can do.

It feels like crap because it is crap. It feels difficult because it really is. One thing that has always helped me is to look around and see all the other guys trying their best and struggling the same as me. It does help when you see you're not alone.

Much love,
Larry
