I know that asking why is wrong
And I'm not asking that particular why
Not that one
But I still don't understand how he could do it to me
I see it all happening
All of it
And I wonder why there wasn't some point at which he didn't say
"Wait a minute, this is my little boy here. What am I doing?"
You know?
Just something like that
I had a kid
There's no way......none
I was like one, for God's sake
When it started
I mean, have you looked at a one year old?
Laying there
Looking up with big helpless eyes
Every time I see a baby
Every time
I can't help thinking the how
Not the why
How do you do that to a little kid
Especially when the little kid is your son

I'm healing now, and I wasn't sure I would.

I wish I had that answer, but I don't. I doubt that anyone does. I wonder if there could ever be any answer that we could hear and then think, "Oh, okay. Now I get it." It somehow feels like trying to make sense of the senseless.

I know this won't help. I just wanted you to know your poem struck me deeply and that you are being heard and listened to.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.

Bobby... I sit here crying after reading what you wrote... what an amazing question... I so often have asked my self "why"... but, what you have said rings so true. I work with children... have worked with them for 20 years... babies to teenagers, and I will never be able to look in their sweet, trusting faces again without thinking "how?". Larry is right, the answer would never make sense... but the question is so important.

Thank you
