There's an important message in there. Many of the feelings we have may be false and misleading, but they are real nonetheless. When we feel we have to deny them, that makes us think that recovery is about pretending.
It isn't! It's so important to acknowledge and own our feelings, whatever they may be. Admitting where we are and how we feel - being real, you might say - gives us the solid foundation upon which we can build.
