As I read many of the posts here, I realize that I am not alone.

Walking through life's doors
And those painful doors
Looking for that one
That opens to enlightenment
Truth's conclave
Soul's destination
Sometimes the doors open by themselves
Other times we have to jimmy the locks
Not to break and enter, no
Peeking to see what lies within
If this is a house or home...

Walking through life's doors
You're bound to get a few
Slammed in your face
Fingers caught between lock and jamb
In pain not able to move on
Stuck with throbbing digits
Until released
Licking our wounds
Moving with trepidation to the next entrance...

Walking through life's doors
Eventually after torn digits,
Bruised noses, and blackened eyes,
We all find our homes in this life,
They lay where we have yet to travel.
Possibly behind the next door!

As survivors, we contemplate walking through life's doors.

Sometimes doors will be opened to you.

Many times, they won't.

Perhaps because although we have tried to project a positive and willing attitude, there are going to be times when you might not succeed, but you have to pick yourself up, and just keep trying.

I will, and I hope you all keep trying.

Luv ya,

WOW! That's a great poem. Thanks for sharing Carl!

Yes, doors will open and sometimes not. I recently had one door open to me when I started my current position at where I work now. Yesterday, my senior boss (Vice President of Operations) followed up on it and really gave me a great performance review. His words to me were something like "you have really become a great leader in your department and I am happy to see you progress."

Thanks again Carl.

Thanks for sharing this one. It's such a positive outlook. No one gets all the doors opened for him; we just need to work with the opportunities that come to us and take them as far as we can. If we never try any door we will never know which ones are open to us. Interesting metaphor, and a very important one.

Much love,

As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
