Once in a while, we get a chance to play and be the boy we longed to be all those years ago.

Someone came to my aisle of cubicles and said there were doughnuts and carrot cake a few aisles down since it is his birthday. One of my coworkers was already walking towards that aisle. I came running behind him, deliberately so he could hear my footsteps. He looked back, saw me, and took off! We both made a beeline for the goodies aisle. We both turned down one aisle too soon, so it was the wrong aisle. He immediately ran down around the other end while I doubled back, both of us determined to beat the other to those wonderful doughnuts.

It turns out we reached them at the same time, and the entertainment to our coworkers made it worthwhile! They got a laugh out of watching two grown men charge towards cake and doughnuts. We each took a doughnut, he a blueberry and glazed-lookin' one, and I a cruller. As we walked away, he said 'cheers' and we tapped our doughnuts like two glasses in a toast.

Money talks, but all it tells me is goodbye.

If I could meet myself as a boy...

Cool! And you got a doughnut out of it, too!

We do too little of that, don't we? It's great to let our hair down from time to time, and hey, as Eddie pointed out, you scored a doughnut too! lol

Much love,
