Hey Guys,

My name is Nate - I'm 24, bisexual, and a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and rape. I'm currently a student and living in Springfield, Missouri, but will be graduating next month and looking to bust out to the coast.

I just wanted to give a shout out - I'm excited about this website. I've come across it in the past, but am now joining for the first time. My life has had lots of interesting journeys and twists. Although coming to terms w/ my sexuality was difficult, coping w/ past abuse and rape has been quite a challenge. I find I'm still terrified of sex and avoid relationships because of the fear of being close to others, but hey it's a process, right?

I hope you guys are progessing on your journey of healing. I look forward to chatting/sharing/listening.

- Nate

Hi, Nate --

Welcome! Hope this site is helpful for you. It is a process, but it's been great sharing this journey with such understanding people.

Hi Nate,

Welcome aboard! Glad you came in out of the shadows and decided to join us.

You're right. It is definitely a process, journey, path, all those things, but not so much a destination. It's something we'll be working on the rest of our lives, but hopefully we get the really difficult and painful stuff our of the way fairly early on in the process.

We look forward to getting to know you.

Lots of love,

Nate, welcome. I presume you mean West Coast - a different planet than Missouri - but there are groups for PTSD, MS etc - to face another male who 'knows' is a great relief.

As Walking South says, this a new journey that does not need to be made alone. Every emotion will be experienced, balance can be reached, keep your seat belt on and know ,unfortunately, we are every where but understand.

Hi Nate,

Sorry I missed you earlier. We all understand the pain and the struggle, so just post away.

My name is Joe. I am a survivor and a good man. You can count on me.
