Today Bush signed into law "The Amber Bill". The first part of this bill will make a national "amber alert" to inform everyone that a child is missing. The other part of this new law talks directly to perp.

Other provisions include:
Life in prison without parole for a person convicted a second time of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a child.
Doubling the federal budget for the missing children’s program.
Prohibiting soliciting anything represented to be child pornography.
Making it easier to prosecute sex tour operators and people who travel overseas for sex with minors.
Allowing federal judges to order supervision of released sex offenders for the rest of their lives.
Making it illegal to attempt to take or keep a child outside the United States to avoid custody battles.
Requiring convicted child pornographers to register in the National Sex Offender Registry.

This is one small step for man.... when have a long way to go my fellow brother's, but suvivor's and there family's are being heard. It's sad that someone has to kidnap and sexual asult a child twice before they get life. But it's a start.

I have an idea instead of haveing convicted child pornographers to register with anything how about we "tag" them so we can keep track of them at all times. I am disapointed in this part of the bill. How many states have such a law and it falls short of doing it's job. Sex offenders move and dont tell the police or anything.

Now we can pick the new law apart, and I'm sure we will. But it's a step in the right direction, maybe it will save just one child from living the hell we did growing up. Or maybe it will keep a perp locked up for life to protect the children. Time will tell.

Sorry this isnt very coherent. Mind running to fast to make much sence. Hope it makes some.

Very coherent & helpful to me. Thanks for sharing this really good news. You're right it falls short
in some areas, but it's a positive move forward & takes no steps backward that I can see. It's too bad that with so many innocent lives involved we can't do this all in one giant step. But politics
money, greed & other factors have a way of shortening our steps in the right direction. The important thing is keep walking.

Thanks again brother.
